Seward Travel Guide
Welcome to Seward!
Seward is located on the Kenai Peninsula at the base of Mount Marathon, a 3,022-foot peak that forms the backdrop for the town. The town is also situated at the head of Resurrection Bay, providing a picturesque setting for a variety of activities. Adventures can be planned year-round, with experiences ranging from sport fishing, sailing, hiking and camping to cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and dog sledding. Seward is accessible via the Seward Highway Scenic Byway, the Alaska Railroad and by charter airline. Cruise ships also berth regularly in the town's seaport, offering another way for visitors to enjoy the area. At the Alaska Sealife Center, exhibits and aquariums showcase some of the area's wildlife, including puffins, sea lions and octopuses. Amenities and services available in town include restaurants, shops and an assortment of accommodations, and guests are encouraged to explore the town at any time of the year to encounter Seward hospitality first hand.
